Where Mountains Meet Majesty
Majestic Trails of Rwanda
There are twelve gorilla families living in the Volcanoes National Park, which are fully habituated, with a few others habituated solely for scientific research. The groups, or troops, consist of at least one silverback along with several females and youngsters.
Rarely experienced in isolation, a Rwandan gorilla safari combines well with other East African destinations in Uganda, Kenya or Tanzania. Lake Kivu is a gorgeous expanse of water surrounded by Rwanda’s gently rolling slopes; Rwandans call their home ‘the country of a thousand hills’ because of its landscape. Kivu is a great place to enjoy boating, hiking, kayaking and chimp trekking.
